Alu Treater is designed for continuous purification of rolling oils. By stabilizing conductivity and binding microscopic contaminants into filterable clusters, they safeguard oil quality, protect equipment, and reduce costs – all without additional hardware investment.

Lucent Alu Treater has a clear impact on the conductivity of cold-rolling oils. In untreated systems, conductivity typically continues to rise, often reaching levels above 750–1000 µS. Such high values indicate a destabilized oil system, increased filter load, reduced process stability, and a higher risk of strip surface defects.
With Alu Treater, the oil stabilizes quickly. Within 15 minutes from adding Alu Treater, conductivity drops significantly and levels off around 100 µS. During operation, values remain within the optimal range of 100–300 µS for about 90% of the time and rarely exceed 500 µS.

More on Conductivity
While high conductivity signals a destabilized oil system, excessively low conductivity can also be problematic. If the oil’s conductivity drops below approx. 50 µS, electrostatic charges generated in the rolling gap may not dissipate effectively. This increases the risk of static build-up, sparking, or electrical discharges. In extreme cases, such discharges can lead to strip surface markings, disturbances in strip tracking, or even safety hazards in the mill environment. By keeping oil conductivity within the balanced range of 100–300 µS, Lucent Alu Treater ensures both process stability and operational safety.
