Lucent operates since 2008 a facility for treatment of waste oil, where the company’s technology and chemicals are tested and used.
The waste oil is collected mainly from vessels and tank bottoms. Currently the collecting area is restricted to Finland. The facility has a capacity to treat 50 000 cubic meters per year. Oily wastes are collected 24 hours, every day of the year. Treated oil holds a BS&W of less than 0,5% and the generated water continuously contains less than 1 ppm of oil.
